Seattle, WA and Vladivostok have many things in common. It’s well known true. The people from Vladivostok who have already visited Seattle say that in spite of all cultural differences between Russia and the USA, the process of getting to adjust to Seattle will not take much time. Let’s see why it happens. What do these cities have in common that allows us to say that they are similar in many ways.

First of all, of course, the weather. The weather in Seattle is very changeable. It’s usually cloudy in the morning but sunny in the afternoon.

The people who ever lived in Vladivostok know that we can expect the same changeable weather in Vladivostok. You never know exactly should you take your umbrella or not. During the summer the average temperature in Seattle isn’t much differ than that it of Vladivostok. That’s why it isn’t very difficult to get accustomed to climate for the people from these cities.

Second, these cities are situated at the seaside. People in these cities can easily enjoy watching the beautiful view of the ocean. It’s great point for people who really do like sea and who can’t live without sea.

Third, Vladivostok is very hilly city, and Seattle is too. Some districts in Seattle are even called First Hill, Second Hill, etc. It isn’t very convenient to walk through the hills, but it’s their common characteristic, they have hilly landscape.

Next characteristic is that Vladivostok is the main, central city in the Primorsky Region, it’s the business center in this region, so is Seattle. Seattle is the business center of the state Washington. Many big international companies have offices in Seattle. Also Seattle is the main city in the state Washington.

As you can see Seattle and Vladivostok have many things in common. That’s why people from these both cities don’t have serious problem with getting accustomed to live in these cities. I think we should develop good relationships in different fields and that will help us to understand each other more.
